Enairys Powertech

Enairys Powertech develops systems to store energy in the form of compressed air.

Electricity is used to compress the air by powering an electric motor coupled to a hydropneumatic compressor. The air is then stored in cylinders, connected to each other.

When there is a demand for electricity, the compressed air is used to turn the hydropneumatic machine and drives the electric machine, which then operates as an alternator to reproduce power

Electricity from wind, solar thermal or photovoltaic sources can thus be stored, to be used in periods without wind or sun. This technology can also be used to utilize and store excess energy produced by conventional power plants during off-peak hours (at night).
