Novaccess
Novaccess develops applications in the field of industrial IoT. Embedded systems that are particularly successful in the field of intelligent public lighting.
Novaccess, a spin-off of the University of Engineering and Management of the Canton of Vaud (HEIG-VD) founded in 2011, has developed one of the most comprehensive street lighting management applications in Europe. A hardware and software solution initiated as part of a partnership with the Lausanne Industrial Services and Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for innovation.
The principle?
Integrate control systems into streetlights in order to act remotely and centrally, particularly for maintenance and lighting configuration.
The solution also integrates local intelligence to adapt the brightness according to the time of day, the flow of vehicles or the path of pedestrians.
By adopting this system (and previously other similar systems) - and switching from sodium to LED technology - the City of Yverdon-les-Bains has thus reduced its electricity consumption on the public lighting item by 85%.
