The year 2025 marks not only the 15th anniversary of CleantechAlps, but also that of the Smart Energy Event, which has become a major rendezvous for players in Switzerland’s energy transition. \u201cCleantechAlps, with its day-to-day activities and network, was the ideal partner for us to co-organize this event. 15 years later, we have no regrets about our choice,\u201d says Paul-Andr\u00e9 Vogel. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

A remarkable evolution in the cleantech sector<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

Deeply engaged in the innovation ecosystem, Paul-Andr\u00e9 Vogel draws a positive picture of the sector\u2019s evolution. \u201cFifteen years ago, when CleantechAlps was launched, clean technologies were still relatively unknown. Since then, they\u2019ve seen impressive growth in Switzerland.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Paul-Andr\u00e9 Vogel is optimistic about the strong presence of cleantech among Swiss startups. \u201cIt shows that our country has the capacity to solve complex climate-related problems. Challenges and opportunities for <\/span>cleantech actors<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

Despite progress, Paul-Andr\u00e9 Vogel acknowledges <\/span>several <\/span>remaining challenges<\/span>, particularly around funding for new technologies or promising ideas.<\/span>“<\/span>As in other sectors like biotech, <\/span>convincing investors and mobilizing the necessary resources requires<\/span>constant<\/span> effort, and this often leads to delays in commercialization<\/span>.<\/span>“<\/span>.<\/span> He nevertheless points to encouraging <\/span>success<\/span>–<\/span>stories, such as the Valais-based <\/span>startup <\/span>De<\/span>P<\/span>oly<\/span>, which recently raised $23 million to scale <\/span>up<\/span> its<\/span> plastic recycling technology<\/span> toward industrial production<\/span>.<\/span> \u2014a great reason to end on a high not<\/span>e<\/span>!<\/span><\/p>
