Each year, this award recognizes companies that successfully combine environmental action with economic success, thereby shaping the future of a sustainable economy. CleantechAlps is honored to be one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/greenbusinessaward.ch\/en\/award\/nominierungspartner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nominating partners<\/a> of the Green Business Award.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>37 companies with diverse solutions are nominated for the seventh Green Business Award: ranging <br\/>from up-and-coming scale-ups to large corporations that have transformed their business models <br\/>toward genuine sustainability. Among the nominees is a startup that has developed a sewing thread <br\/>which completely dissolves under the influence of water, pressure and heat \u2013 an innovation with great <br\/>potential for the textile industry. Also, a third-generation family business that uses its own <br\/>sustainability index to transparently show how environmentally friendly and circular each piece of <br\/>furniture is.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innovations in the energy sector<\/h3>\n\n<p>This year, the energy sector stands out with a remarkable number of nominated solutions. A vertical <br\/>wind turbine is setting new standards in energy generation, while geothermal panels are transforming <br\/>underground spaces such as parking garages into renewable sources of heating and cooling. A heatreflective coating helps reduce heating costs, thereby improving the energy efficiency of buildings. This <br\/>marks an important step forward, considering that the building sector is responsible for approximately<br\/>23 % of Switzerland\u2019s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Federal Office for Environment1. <br\/>\u00abTechnological innovation in the energy sector plays a key role in driving the energy transition\u201d, says <br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Doris_Leuthard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Doris Leuthard<\/a>, former Federal Councilor and President of the Green Business Award jury. \u00abOnce <br\/>again, the nominees demonstrate the diversity and forward-thinking nature of these solutions. They <br\/>are an inspiration for the entire economy to actively help shape the transition.\u00bb     <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The importance of impact investing is increasing<\/h3>\n\n<p>\u00abPersonally, I am very pleased that this year, some sustainable solutions from companies in the <br\/>financial sector are represented\u00bb, says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/c%C3%A9dric-habermacher\/?originalSubdomain=ch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">C\u00e9dric Habermacher<\/a>, Director of Green Business Switzerland. <br\/>\u00abIt shows that the topic of impact investing remains important and that we are on the right track with <br\/>our new strategy.\u00bb For the past year, the Green Business Award has been presented jointly with Impact <br\/>Gstaad. At the finale, the finalists are given the opportunity to pitch their solutions to investors to <br\/>obtain growth capital.   <\/p>\n\n<p>The selection process for the Green Business Award is unique and takes place in several stages. The selection process of the Green Business Award follows a unique, multi-stage procedure. After <br\/>around 40 partner organizations \u2013 such as the Federal Office for the Environment, Solar Impulse, Swiss <br\/>Textiles and the WWF \u2013 have submitted their nominations, a preliminary jury awards the five best <br\/>solutions with the label \u00abGreen Business Excellence\u00bb.
