The canton of Jura<\/a> has just taken a key step forward in the redevelopment of brownfield sites with the updating of its cantonal inventory. Carried out as part of the Innosuisse SwissRenov Flagship program<\/a>, this work now lists 70 brownfield sites in the Jura region and makes them accessible via an online mapping platform. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

This inventory is primarily intended for companies looking for premises, investors interested in rehabilitating or renovating industrial sites, and authorities responsible for land use planning. It aims to encourage the measured use of land and resources by promoting the reuse of existing under-occupied or abandoned buildings. <\/p>\n\n

The project was led by Haute \u00c9cole Arc<\/a>, in collaboration with the Jura Regional Development Service, as part of the SwissRenov Flagship initiative. This project, which is unique in Switzerland and partially funded by the Swiss Confederation through the Innosuisse Flagship initiative, aims to promote the renovation and rehabilitation of industrial buildings based on the principles of the circular economy. It brings together a large consortium of partners from universities, the construction, engineering, architecture, and circular economy sectors, as well as public authorities. <\/p>\n\n

A benchmark project at the national level<\/h2>\n\n

Rolled out across the Jura region, SwissRenov is a pilot project for the redevelopment of brownfield sites, particularly for the renovation of industrial buildings. Updating the inventory is one of the first concrete achievements of this flagship project, which will continue until 2028 and will serve as the basis for the next stages of the project. <\/p>\n\n

The approach developed in Jura, particularly with regard to data structuring and availability, is set to become a model for other cantons.<\/p>\n\n

CleantechAlps’ commitment<\/h2>\n\n

CleantechAlps is a member of the advisory committee of the Innosuisse SwissRenov flagship program, represented by its secretary general, Eric Plan<\/a>. For the platform, SwissRenov and its consortium are clearly establishing themselves as the Swiss leaders in the field of industrial brownfield redevelopment and renovation, with the potential to eventually become the future Swiss center of expertise in this area. <\/p>\n\n

CleantechAlps would like to give special recognition to the commitment shown by Sandra von Kaenel<\/a>, project manager, and that of Prof. Nicolas Babey <\/a>, whose involvement is directly linked to the impact and quality of the results achieved to date.<\/p>\n\n
