SMEs and scale-ups will, for the first time, be recognised in separate categories. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Green Business Award is being presented for the eighth time. For the first time, the diversity of <br\/>the nominated companies is also reflected in the award structure: the SME category honours <br\/>companies that have consistently transformed their existing business model towards climate <br\/>protection. The Scale-up category recognises young companies that see sustainability as a business <br\/>model from the ground up through new technologies. \u201cIf business is truly to become part of the <br\/>solution, we need both: the disruptive technologies of scale-ups and the broad reach of established <br\/>companies transforming their business models,\u201d says C\u00e9dric Habermacher, Director of Green Business <br\/>Switzerland.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Diversity of the Swiss Economy<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The breadth of the nominated solutions shows how widely sustainability as a business model has <br\/>already spread. Infomaniak Network SA from Geneva feeds waste heat from its data centre into the <br\/>district heating network \u2013 enough to heat 6,000 homes in winter \u2013 thereby creating a new source of <br\/>revenue from infrastructure already in operation. JURA Materials AG replaces energy-intensive clinker <br\/>in cement with locally sourced Swiss clay: lower emissions, lower import dependency, and lower <br\/>production costs. Textilcolor AG increases production capacity with a new soaping agent while <br\/>simultaneously reducing CO\u2082 emissions by 56%. Among the scale-ups, SensorX Solutions makes <br\/>methane leaks visible in real time, helping energy companies avoid costly losses. Novamem AG reduces <br\/>electricity costs in the production of green hydrogen with a new membrane technology. \u201cSaving our <br\/>planet is not a charitable project, but the business model of the future,\u201d says Doris Leuthard, former <br\/>Federal Councillor and Chair of the Green Business Award jury.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The full list of the 30 nominees is available at:<\/strong><br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/greenbusinessaward.ch\/nominierte\/\">https:\/\/greenbusinessaward.ch\/nominierte\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Jury, Process and Award Ceremony<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selection process for the Green Business Award follows a unique multi-stage procedure. Around <br\/>40 partner organisations of the award \u2013 including Economiesuisse, Swisscleantech, Swissmem and <br\/>WWF \u2013 submit their nominations, after which a preliminary jury selects the three best solutions per <br\/>category.
