The young Vaud-based start-up has convinced investors of the strength of its techical expertise and capability for innovation. Following a capital increase totalling one million Swiss francs, the company will carry on developing tools for communities, municipalities and landscaping professionnals. It will particularly focus on Exomap™, a mapping platform that determines the vegetation potential of urban soils
Terasol SA is dedicated to preserving and regenerating soil, as well as maintaining the ecosystem services they provide. This commitment includes combating heat islands and infiltrating rainwater. The company provides cutting-edge support to all stakeholders, whether public or private, involved in planning development work or implementing public policies to adapt to climate change
Values and innovation
The alignment between its values with its technical expertise and innovation capabilities enabled Terasol SA to convince a wide range of investors (companies active in the construction and real estate sectors, engineering offices, unicorns, business angels) to participate in a recent fund-raising. This first capital increase sums up to one million Swiss francs, which sets the company value to five millions Swiss francs. A second round of financing is already planned for the first quarter of 2027.
The right tree at the right place
The majority of the funds raised will be allocated to the development of Exomap™ – an interactive mapping tool that can determine the vegetation potential of an area’s soils. At a time when many public authorities are developing strategies for soil sealing and tree planting, Exomap™ is an extremely valuable decision-making aid. The platform has already won over a number of Swiss municipalities, such as Gland and Nyon, to whom Terasol SA has delivered various sets of maps to help build and implement their climate change adaptation strategy.
