We are publishing the results of our 2025–2026 survey on the practices, ambitions, and challenges of Swiss SMEs in relation to sustainability.
Conducted among 680 business leaders, the largest number of responses on this topic in French-speaking Switzerland, this survey provides a unique overview of the current situation in a context marked by increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
Key findings include:
- 75% of SMEs have carried out at least one analysis related to an ESG pillar, mainly on environmental aspects;
- 77% have taken environmental action and 65% have taken social action, but these measures often remain incomplete;
- 46% of companies have no certification;
- 55% express at least one need for support;
- 60% identify financial resources as the main obstacle to implementing sustainability measures;
- Nearly 50% do not have a formal risk management plan.
The results show that, while awareness is very real, the strategic structuring of approaches remains limited in a large part of the economic fabric.
