The sixth edition of the BlueArk Conference will be held on Wednesday 12 November 2025 in Le Châble. More than 300 water management experts and around 50 speakers are expected at the Espace Saint-Marc for themed conferences, an innovation village and networking opportunities. Artificial intelligence, mountain water management, wastewater treatment and technological innovations: all the hot topics will be explored at this event. Registration is now open and the programme is available at www.blueark.ch/conference.
Since its first edition in 2018, the BlueArk Conference has grown in importance and become an unmissable event for water specialists in French-speaking Switzerland. The 2025 edition, once again organised by BlueArk with the support of ALTIS and The Ark Foundation, will feature keynote presentations, a round table discussion and several separate themed sessions.
Hydrologist Charlène Descollonges, author of several books, will open the event by discussing the importance of changing our approach to and perception of water resources.
In addition to the plenary presentations, various thematic sessions organised by the conference partners will punctuate the day. These sessions will address topics such as wastewater reuse, water supply in mountain pastures, water management in mountain areas, sediment issues for hydropower facilities and artificial intelligence for water management. Numerous speakers will share their experiences and research, including renowned figures in the field such as ETH Zurich professor Robert Boes.
A focus on glaciers, these giants in danger
A round table discussion dedicated to glacier retreat and its impact on the water cycle will bring together representatives from the economic, technical and tourism sectors. At the end of the conference, journalist Yves Magat and Gaëtan Morard, director of the Musée des bisses, will share their findings from the documentary ‘Si les glaciers ne revenaient pas’ (If the glaciers don’t come back). The traditional ‘networking raclette’ will conclude the day.
Throughout the day, an innovation village will enable participants to discover around fifteen SMEs and start-ups, which will present their activities and innovations related to water management. Numerous networking opportunities will punctuate the exchanges between participants.
