The H2 & Fuel Cell Expo 2026 marks the 4th edition of Japan’s specialized trade fair focused on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Taking place from March 17–19, 2026 in Tokyo, the event is a key component of the Smart Energy and Green Transformation Week, the largest energy trade fair for smart energy solutions in Japan.
This trade fair showcases a wide range of technologies and products related to hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization, serving as a platform for industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore business opportunities, and build partnerships across the hydrogen value chain.
The 2025 edition attracted 1,500 exhibitors and approximately 70,000 visitors, reflecting growing domestic and international interest in hydrogen as a decarbonized energy solution.
Japan’s national commitment to a hydrogen-based society, as outlined in its Basic Hydrogen Strategy, supports the development and deployment of hydrogen solutions across transportation, industrial applications, and power generation. With strong engagement from companies such as Toyota and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Japan continues to invest in building a competitive hydrogen economy and international supply chains. This presents significant opportunities for foreign companies engaged in low-carbon hydrogen production, infrastructure development, and technological innovation.
